Signification du prénom victorien
Signification prénom :
Dérivé de Victor, transcrit du latin Victorianus, nom d'homme signifiant le victorieux.
Victorien était déjà un nom attribué dans l'Antiquité. Il disparut ensuite de l'usage et ne fut redécouvert qu'à la fin du XVIIIe siècle, mais n'a jamais atteint une grande diffusion. Il n'est guère connu que dans les pays latins. Saint Victorien était, à la fin du Ve siècle, le proconsul romain de Carthage en Afrique du Nord. Fait prisonnier par les envahisseurs vandales, il refusa d'abjurer sa foi chrétienne, fut torturé puis exécuté.

C'est vrai qu'on connait mieux le prénom Victor que celui de Victorien, mais la racine latine est la même pourtant.
Je ne savais pas que Victorien était un martyr, merci pour l'info !
